Restorative Yoga – May 16th

Restorative Yoga brings harmony to the body’s rhythms. It brings you to a state of “being”, not “doing”, while there is no movement, no effort, and the brain becomes quiet. Props are used to place the body in comfortable, relaxing poses. This enables the mind to clear, the breath to deepen, and the body to easily relax into balance. Restorative Yoga is the practice of deliberate stillness. This is when the healing begins. It is known that restorative yoga can activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which enables automatic control of the body. As such, the regular nervous system will be at rest, and the muscles will become more relaxed. Constant practice of restorative yoga will make your body less vulnerable to stress-related illnesses and help you achieve optimal health.

Thursday, May 16th,  7:00pm – 8:30-pm

Breathing for Health and Vitality with Luke Ketterhagen

Friday, April 5th –  3:30pm – 4:30pm

Join Luke for an in-depth workshop dedicated to the practices that at the deepest levels help us heal – physically, mentally and emotionally. We will take a comprehensive look at the breath; how we breath; and in what ways we can manipulate our breathing mechanism to create measurable and immense changes. Without breath there is no life; there is no yoga. By knowing how to work with the breath we can literally experience an uncoupling of the breath with emotions. This lies at the heart of increasing our capacity for fulfillment and freedom and is how we heal on all levels.

Event held at Peace Tree Yoga
Cost: $30.00 ($3.00 service fee)

Luke Ketterhagen on The Yamas and Niyamas

Friday, April 5th  6:00pm – 7:30pm

Join Luke for a class, discussion and practice that will take an in-depth look at the 10 commitments of yoga – the Yamas and Niyamas. Find out how we constantly use the world around us and others in our lives to see habits that need refinement. Through these habit changes we can learn how to apply those refinements to our lives and our own inner environment. As Gandhi says “Be the change you want to see in the world.” The Yamas and Niyamas are the way.

Event held at Peace Tree Yoga
